Microphone
Required for Voice → Text

VoiceMe records audio only while your hotkey is active. Audio never leaves your Mac — it is processed entirely by the Parakeet model running on your device.

How to enable:
System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → toggle on VoiceMe
Accessibility
Required for hotkeys & paste

Accessibility access lets VoiceMe detect your global hotkey in any app and paste transcribed text exactly where your cursor is — just like typing.

How to enable:
System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility → toggle on VoiceMe
First launch security prompt: Because VoiceMe is downloaded outside the App Store, macOS will show a warning the first time. Right-click the app → Open → click Open in the dialog. This only needs to happen once.

Do I need to buy to download the app?

Can I transfer my license to a new Mac?

Yes — enter the same Order ID on your new Mac. The Single license supports 1 activation at a time; the Family license supports 3. No need to release your old Mac first.

What Mac do I need?

macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later with Apple Silicon required (M1, M2, M3, or M4 chip). VoiceMe uses Apple's Neural Engine for real-time AI — that's what makes it fully offline with no cloud needed. Intel Macs are not supported.
